| Poland Mining Camps (PMC) has dedicated it's facilities and business to the pursuit of knowledge and education within the field of geology, concentrating upon pegmatology and mineralogy. We welcome the individual collector, student or geologist to stay and work out of our Camps, but we relish the opportunity to service larger groups and organizations with similar interests, to select Poland Mining Camps as their meeting or field trip venue. PMC offers full services for hosting your Club Meeting, Seminar, Workshop, Conference or Summer Camp at our facilities. Whether for an evening or for a week (or more), we can offer conference/meeting services to fit your needs. With on site housing, meals and Classroom facilities to select from, your meeting will be a success. Additionally, our list of exclusive mineral collecting localities will be at your disposal for field trips. |
 | Our Pavilion is the perfect classroom for Geological events! We have a seven foot wide screen and can supply dual 35 mm projectors. Mineral display cases built into the walls are full of specimens from many of the Maine localities. Additionally, larger specimens from all over Maine are displayed on other shelves and tables. We have an area set aside for microscope work, and one scope is equipped with a video monitor for group study. Reference minerals & literature for the area is also available. |
| We currently host such organizations as the Maine Pegmatite Workshop (by Dr. William "Skip" Simmons, University of New Orleans) and the PegCamp (by Dr. Michael Wise, Smithsonian Institution). We have hosted such organizations as the Eastern Federation Of Mineralogical and Lapidary Society's summer field trip, mineral collecting clubs and private parties. | |
Additional services can be arranged to meet your needs! Some organizations have requested we recommend and hire a field trip guide or make arrangements to meet some of the local miners. We often make arrangements for our customers to view the newest specimens found at certain mines. We can also make arrangements to supply you with lecturers from the local area (subject to availability). Contact Mary Groves with your requirements for more details! |
